Cuisine: Fenugreek is commonly found in cuisines ranging from North Africa to South Asia. It is commonly used in many curries, is found in bread in Egypt and Ethiopia. It is they key ingredient in the Persian dish ghorme sabzi.
Mixology: Fenugreek is a subtle flavoring ingredient in many liqueurs, and brings a unique maple syrup essence to a cocktail. Many swear that fenugreek flavors the classic Pimm’s No. 1. A 2011 study indicated that fenugreek may protect against alcohol-indued liver damage.
Pairings: Paprika, cumin, garam masala, and coriander, potatoes, tomatoes, okra, aromatics, including chile peppers, ginger, onion, and garlic, and yogurt.
